St. George and the Dragon

I see this picture in a whole other view; I see it more as the classic fairytale. The clichéd the knight saves the princess from the evil dragon. The clouds are beginning to become dark, like there is a storm is approaching. In every battle scene there are dark clouds in the sky and a storm starts with beaming lights of lightning and roaring sounds of thunder. When the storm is strong the battle begins and usually the dragon dies and the knight gets the princess and they live happily ever after.

The lady in the picture is the damsel in distress. I think she is a princess because of the royal and colorful robes she is wearing. Her nonchalant look tells me that knights and nobles have tried to save her countless time but to no avail. The dragon she is tied to can also be a symbol of the princess' loneliness and unhappiness. The knight bringing the dragon to his demise can finally bring the princess to her full potential of happiness.

The Knight is considered the rescuer or the princess' savior. He is on his fine white horse and dressed in his full armor, just like in Sleeping Beauty. The horse is in his stance and the knight is ready for battle. The Knight stabs the dragon and defeats the dragon...then comes a happily ever after! La
La La La.
